Rescue Organizations Work Together To Save Hundreds Of Animals Displaced By Hurricane Harvey

The pets were evacuated from shelters in Austin area. Most of them have been there for a long time and surely do not have families.

“What we can do is relieve those shelters that had all those dogs [prior to the storm] and now they can handle the homeless animals that are being rounded up daily,” Franklin said.

30 cats and dogs are housed in SF SPCA. The rest are divided among the local rescue organizations.
