Oliver is a two-year-old Chihuahua rescued from the streets, flashing between cars. He was brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter in California until a permanent home was to be found.
One day, a photography hobbyist named John Hwang, who loves to cover shelter animal stories through his photos, visited the shelter. Soon enough, Oliver caught John’s attention.
At first, Oliver was very shy to step up, but then his bravery prevailed. He stood up in his two legs and held his paws against the kennel in a prayer position as if asking for help.
So, Hwang photographed the begging pup. His future–no, his life was on the line.
