Thankfully, Frosted Faces Foundation caught wind of Sonoma’s predicament and came to his aid.
“At any age, the only languages a dog will ever know are fierce loyalty and love,” Kelly Smíšek, founder of Frosted Faces Foundation, told The Dodo.
“There is nothing one can say to explain to your dog all of the reasons you feel your decision of abandonment is justified, and that is why we operate Frosted Faces Foundation.”
Sonoma may be old but he’s got a lot of life and love in him. She’s not about to go out yet. In fact, she is waiting for the perfect family to give her the second chance that she deserves.
Other than some masses and skin tags due to old age, Sonoma is actually pretty healthy for a senior dog. He loves to eat and usually drags his ears through his food.
“He has some tiny hang-y masses and lots of skin tags, but we aren’t going to do anything too crazy,” Smíšek said. “The man did make it to 20 years old without being carved upon, so perhaps the only thing he requires beyond the treatment for his eyes and ears is a loving home!”
Right now, this wonderful dog is happy with the temporary home that he’s got. But hopefully, he gets to go home soon!
